ACT II brings literature to life through the magic of theatre with wholesome, educational, high-quality productions for local schools and the community. School children read the book, then watch it unfold on stage. We subsidize ticket prices so that all schools, including low-income schools, can enjoy this life-changing art. We also provide young actors with a safe environment where they can grow in their character and talent.
Art on the Streets celebrates the power of art in public places. It is the only nonprofit program in our region bringing professionally curated sculptures and murals to the city center for the enjoyment of all. Beloved works like the Humpty Dumpty eggmen, the giant Octo-Maid and colorful murals show that our community is an inspiring, creative, well-cared-for and unique place for people from all walks of life.
The heroic sacrifices of the D-Day Invasion on June 6, 1944 must never be forgotten, and the Colorado Springs Chorale will represent our great city and the United States as it travels to Normandy, France, as the exclusive choir of the 76th D-Day ceremonies to sing in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.
Concrete Couch works with kids and community groups to create public art, to build community, and to create environments and experiences that humanize our world. For over 15 years, we have worked with some of our community's most underserved populations: military families and veterans, Title One schools, adjudicated teens, senior citizens, developmentally differently-abled people, and those earning service hours.
Finding Our Voices empowers survivors of sexual assault to thrive by offering creative activities and healing events. Our programs tap into the innate creativity that survivors have within themselves to assist in revealing underlying emotions and thoughts which can be expressed in supportive, safe environments.
Funky is a group of artists that are striving to bridge the gap between professional and community theater. We encourage all experience levels in an inclusive and safe environment. Theater for everyone!
Hands are for Holding was developed to improve the social and emotional wellbeing of middle and high school students. This interactive school assembly program uses dance performance, gesture, and dialogue to explore bullying, healthy and unhealthy relationships, social isolation, boundaries, consent, and technological abuse. This program will create a new generation of healthy, positive relationships!
Hear Here Poetry encourages intergenerational and diverse audiences to actively listen, write, and share by providing high-quality access points to writing and performance poetry education. With our workshops, events, and competitions, we annually coach the city’s top youth voices to an international stage. More than time with microphone or pen, we exist to foster brave, inclusive, and life-sharing community networks.
We make imagination part of everyday learning by awakening creativity, curiosity and courage in children and adults. We inspire a love of learning through creative engagement via our What IF…Festival of Innovation and Imagination, Imagination Space, School Theater, Kaleidoscope Dance, Dragon Theatre, Portals project connecting us to the world, and CACTUS program for active military, veterans and their families.
The Millibo Art Theatre was named after two wonderful performers - Millie Harrison and Bo Frese – Millie and Bo. They exemplified the passion, dedication, and sense of play that we bring to all of our programs at the Millibo. We create “New Theatre” for children and adults that brings together the best of the performing arts. We build the audiences and the artists for tomorrow.
We've been rescued by music! Our lives improved through playing our instruments and interacting with other musicians. Our adult ensembles rehearse and perform 30+ concerts for the community. NHBCOS has become an integral part of our lives and we love it! Help us rescue more adults - donate to our NHBCOS cause.
We are volunteer musicians committed to developing our individual musicianship so that we can provide high quality, low cost classical symphony orchestra concerts to our community. Springs Ensemble Theatre is known for producing big theatre in a small space. SET’s all-volunteer membership features professional theatre artists and community leaders who pride themselves on producing challenging, thought-provoking, entertaining theatre of the highest caliber.
Our mission is to sustain the traditions and skills of all forms of textile arts and honor the earth by bringing the conversation about textile sustainability to the community. We believe that a community that embraces creativity and making, and honors self-expression is a much stronger, more connected and tolerant community. Textiles are a unique art form because they are more accessible, less intimidating to learn.
We are re-imagining Parkinson’s through communal creative engagement and improving quality of life for those living with Parkinson’s, along with their care partners, friends, and family. Our Creativity Labs provide an outlet for imagination and uniqueness. Drawing, painting, printmaking, and bookbinding allow us to feed the soul, work on fine motor skills, and create an intentional community of positivity.
