We are a “one-stop shop” resource center for low-income people in northern El Paso County. No matter whether a person needs food, financial assistance, medical care, case management, a listening ear, or a plan to navigate out of poverty, we are here for them with no judgement. We are a safe place for people in crisis to find help. Our community strongly supports us with both financial and in-kind support.
We at TLC are different. Christy, a client, explains in her words, “you’re not a number, you’re a person, they know your name, they are your family.” We listen and care. Through relief, emergency, and self-sufficiency programs, we walk along side people facing many types of financial issues and food insecurity. They are not alone. They are treated like family when in crisis or navigating through life’s difficulties.
Non-perishable food items; toilet paper; laundry soap; hygiene items; hand sanitizer. Video production for new informational video.
Nearly 43% of households served in TLC’s service area are cost burdened, where housing costs exceed 30% of total household income.
“My son and I were in desperate need of assistance: emotionally and financially. TLC helped us with groceries, car repairs, gas to get to a doctor appointment, and school pick ups...my life has slowly and surely taken a turn for the better.” — Amanda, a TLC client
