The Place provides the roofs, resources and relationships that help youth exit homelessness. We work with youth ages 15 to 24, creating a safe environment of support, encouragement and hope. We are the only nonprofit organization in Colorado Springs that offers a full convergence of trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate and strength-based services for youth in homelessness.
With compassion, guidance and support, positive change and healing can happen in support of youth to get off the street. When young people are involved with The Place, they have a real chance at finding success, from completing high school or starting higher education, finding sustainable employment or housing, managing a chronic mental illness, or reuniting with family in a safe environment.
Individually wrapped fruit snacks, crackers, granola bars, and beef jerky are always helpful. We also need basic housing supplies like toilet paper, cleaning supplies, brooms, dustpans, and mops.
Youth experiencing homelessness has increased 20% in each of the last two years.
“I don’t know where I would be without [The PLACE]. It is because of people like you who are the reason I can smile today.” — Sana N. accessed emergency youth shelter in 2017
