Imagine you are: a 5-day-old puppy abandoned with your siblings on a doorstep… a cat born with only three feet whose family can’t afford your care… a fearful dog with no training or social skills in a shelter that has too few resources. Where do you go to get the love, time and medical care you need to heal and learn to trust again? To TCRAS, where our guests are part of our family until they find one of their own.
Want to know one of Teller County’s best-kept secrets? It’s TCRAS, a shelter/rescue group at the base of Pikes Peak. A limited intake facility, we give every dog and cat who enters our doors the specialized care they need to be ready for their new “leash” on life. They get the attention, training, high-quality nutrition and medical treatment they need, and stay with us until they find their purr-fect forever family.
Adopters, Facebook friends, volunteers for shelter and events, foster families, new signage for our building, funds for marketing expenses, and improvements to dog runs and outdoor facilities.

This donor-funded, volunteer-supported, shelter-with-a-heart has a Mighty Medical Fund to provide neonatal care, surgeries, therapy and other support to our guests.
“TCRAS is a place where abandoned, innocent dogs and cats can reside without fear until their forever family is found.” — The Ladies at Pet Pantry
