Status: Code 4, Inc.

What

First Responders see more trauma in a day than some of us see in a lifetime. Status: Code 4, Inc. (SC4i) provides counseling, mental wellness and resiliency classes and other mental health resources to local first responders and their family members. Community support allows us to serve these men and women at no or low cost, helping them stay healthy, happy and committed to this crucial work.

Why

First Responders don’t ask for help, and when they do they are in crisis. They won’t go to centers where they drop off patients for fear of being recognized. They need a safe, private place to get healthy again. SC4i uniquely provides resources by a staff of first responders and family members that have “lived” experience with PTSD, depression, anxiety and suicidal Ideation. SC4i knows the culture and gets it!

Needs

We need one full-time therapist to provide individual outpatient counseling and therapeutic group sessions at our Colorado Springs office.

Did You Know

Each month in Colorado, nearly three First Responders die by suicide, and over 25% struggle with post-traumatic stress, depression or substance abuse.

“We as First Responders in El Paso County are extremely blessed to have an organization that performs the work that Status Code 4 does. They are truly dedicated to helping our brothers and sisters. I cannot say thank you enough!” — Tyler Lowe, Firefighter/EMT/Peer Support, Fountain FD
