We take medically and socially needy cats for rehab, treatment and adoption. Cats that need more time to become adoptable and that may be at-risk of euthanasia come from Colorado homes, rescue groups and other shelters. We take otherwise unadoptable cats from the Humane Society of the PIkes Peak Region so that cats needing longer times to heal medically and socially to become adoptable, have a second chance with us.
We address cats’ emotional and medical needs before we offer them for adoption. For the first three months of 2020 50% of our adoptions were of bonded pairs. One of these pairs were nine year old sisters. The cats’ well being is the primary factor in agreeing to an adoption. In addition, our cats have already been provided the best veterinary care and diagnostics available, prior to listing them for adoption.
We can always use more volunteers.
We have adopted pairs of cats who were as old as 14 years old before.
“We are grateful to have LWTCBI as a rescue partner because they have the space and the ability to provide cats what we sometimes can’t – the gift of time to adjust and become who they’re meant to be Ami Manivong Feline Programs Manager HSPPR” — Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region
