Our all-volunteer group protects and preserves our City’s “Central Park” for you. We repair the Park’s unique, historic stone entries, overlooks, walls & bridges. We care for its vegetation, carrying on Gen. Palmer’s vision of a natural park for people to enjoy. We organize free musical concerts, guided bird, tree & wildflower walks and park clean-ups that provide beneficial and educational activities in our Park.
Monument Valley Park is a downtown oasis our community uses every day to run, bike, walk and play. It is key to the quality of life for many urban workers and our City’s residents. Its historic stone features and natural landscape create a unique experience for all Park users. City funding is insufficient to maintain the Park. Without our group’s efforts, the century-old stonework would be lost forever.
A stage for our free concerts. Volunteers for park clean-ups. A volunteer to plan events targeting the growing downtown residential community and nearby neighborhoods.
Our repairs to the Columbia St. Entrance involved rebuilding a stone wall in serious danger of collapse, making it safe for the over 900 people who pass it daily.
“Friends of Monument Valley Park are truly doing the "heavy lifting," preserving historic stonework for all of us.” — Susan Davies
