The CSYSA provides for the artistic and educational development of young people (ages 6-18) in the Pikes Peak area by offering high-quality, diverse musical experiences. We believe that any child who wants to learn a symphonic instrument should be able to do so. We not only stress musical growth and excellence, but also personal development and citizenship. Students gain confidence through lessons, responsibility and leadership.
We are dedicated to growing not only great musicians, but great people! Our national and international tours bridge communities and culture, and create world citizens of our students. Through each of our 8 orchestral groups, students gain expertise, lifelong friendships and life skills. Our financial aid and scholarship programs help us to provide symphonic music education to any child who wishes to learn.
Funding for: Financial aid for under-served youth, instruments (purchase & repair), sheet music (purchase & rental), office supplies, our chamber, collegiate prep, and summer programs.
Since 1994, Mozart Strings Project has provided instruction to 160+ kids (many with financial challenges) at 5 different sites, 2x/week, with 3 concerts per year.
“The CSYSA helped my daughter develop her musicianship by playing outstanding music in a full orchestra and a brass quintet. Benefits included enthusiastic leadership, outstanding communication and opportunities to perform regionally and around the world.” — Carla Parmentier
