For 41 years, the CSYSA has provided the most comprehensive instrumental music program for youth in this region. The diverse musical experiences we offer create great musicians, and great people! Our goal: ensure that any child who wishes to learn a symphonic instrument has the opportunity to do so. We believe that music education has the ability to change a child’s life and positively affect their future.
When a student joins one of our 8 orchestral groups, they gain more than a symphonic education. Through local/national/international tours, they experience other cultures and communities. Students acquire expertise, lifelong friendships and lifeskills that benefit them for years to come. Access is critical: we offer financial aid and scholarship programs so that every child who wants to learn is able to participate.
Funding for: Financial aid for underserved youth, Instruments (purchase/repair), Sheet music (purchase/rental), Office supplies, Our chamber and summer programs, Operations in our new facility.
Over the past 41 years, thousands of young students have studied with the CSYSA. Many of them have enjoyed distinguished careers in music.
“Being a member of the CSYSA helped my daughter develop her musicianship by playing outstanding literature in an orchestra and a brass quintet. Unexpected benefits: enthusiastic leadership, outstanding communication, opportunities to perform all over.” — Carla Parmentier, Parent
