Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado provides youth facing adversity with strong, enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships. Adult community volunteers are paired with youth to be a Big Brother or Big Sister — and through simply giving the invaluable gift of friendship, these match relationships change lives for the better, forever.
BBBSC is effective because of our amazing community of volunteers. We are uniquely positioned to impact the lives of youth by matching them with mentors to help them navigate through life and reach their full potential. Mentorship creates transformative effects upon the lives of not just the youth served and the volunteer mentor, but also upon their families, the Colorado Springs community, and future generations.
Our biggest need is to recruit more adult volunteers, especially for our mentor2.0 program at Atlas Prep. We also would benefit from support for mentor2.0 events, to help defray expenses.
In Colorado, only 67% of economically disadvantaged students complete high school compared to 90% of non-economically disadvantaged students?
