The Give! Campaign has selected 96 worthy local causes to be featured in the 2018 Give! Guide and on indygive.com. It’s the largest selection ever for this year-end campaign, established to make it easy and fun for local residents to learn about, get involved with, and give back to causes they care about.
This year’s list includes organizations making a difference across the spectrum, from supporting veterans, the arts, health and human services, the great outdoors, animals, youth and more. Twenty-five are new to the Give! Campaign.
Selected nonprofits will be featured November 1, through December 31, 2018 in the Give! Guide, published in the Colorado Springs Independent and the Colorado Springs Business Journal, and here on indygive.com, where it’s easy for people to learn about and donate to multiple organizations in one place during the campaign.
Since 2009 Give! has raised over $9.6 million for 180 local nonprofits. Last year Give! raised over $1.5 million for 75 nonprofits in El Paso and Teller Counties.
Give!’s focus is on catalyzing philanthropy among those 36 and younger, and helping smaller and less well-known organizations gain skills, get their message out and raise unrestricted funds. Local nonprofits apply each year to participate in Give! and they are carefully vetted to insure each is a sold investment for donors. The campaign then provides valuable nonprofit skills training, exposure through TV, radio and print media partners, and featured space in the Give Guide on indygive.com.

It’s a community-wide effort that we couldn’t do without over 150 media and business partners, sponsors, expert trainers and volunteers. Add in over 350 matching grant donors, and nearly 10,000 donations from the public between November and December, and that adds up to a tremendous impact. Together we are making our community a better place by strengthening our diverse nonprofits that provide vital services and improve lives in the Pikes Peak region.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, including the Colorado Springs Independent, and the Colorado Springs Business Journal, 100% of donations through Give! went directly to the designated nonprofits. For every $1 invested in sponsorship and underwriting, Give! raises $10 for nonprofits.
The 75 nonprofits in the Give! Class of 2017 joined forces with Bristol Brewing Company on November 2, 2017 to officially launch this year’s campaign. Representatives from all 75 nonprofits along with Bristol owner, Mike Bristol and dozens of philanthropy minded community members joined together to make philanthropy tasty again. Opening remarks from Give! Executive Director, Barb Van Hoy, gave way to the Colorado Springs Chorale singing a robust version of “In Taberna Quando Sumus” from Carmina Burana.
The revelry continued as the first pints of this year’s Give! Black Lager were poured and passed as all toasted to inclusiveness and a successful campaign! Bristol will continue it’s incredible support of Indy Give! through December 31st by donating $3 from every pint of Give! Black Lager to the participating nonprofit of your choice. All Springs and Pueblo area Old Chicago locations are getting in on the fun too by generously giving $1 from each Give! Black Lager pint sold.
You can make an impact in YOUR community, too, by donating here. We all live here, so let’s all give here!
Check out all the love from our community: $1.39 million from 9,245 donations to 72 nonprofits, and the huge Give Thanks lists to all our community partners who made it a successful year.
Please join the Give! Campaign Board of Directors in welcoming Barb Van Hoy to the Give! Campaign.
Established in 2009, Give! is a year-end multimedia marketing campaign designed to generate funds, volunteers and applause for the important work performed by Pikes Peak region nonprofits. Since its inception, Give! has helped raise over $8.1 million for 166 local nonprofits while giving them access to matching grants, media exposure and hands-on training opportunities from local and regional experts. We are excited to introduce you to this year’s class of participating nonprofits! For the last several months each participating nonprofit’s staff, board and key volunteers have been working hard to prepare so that they can get the most out of this years campaign and your support.
